A bucket list of note! An experience of a lifetime that will remain in our memories and hearts forever. Truly blessed to have been able to do this.

We left our campsite just after 5am to get to venue by 5.45 - refreshments were laid out, indemnity forms signed and off we went with our driver & pilot, balloons in tow to the take-off spot. A spectacular sunrise, nerves & adrenalin rising as we watched in awe as the crew readied our chariots. Sadly we were not on our own for a romantic couples adventure but were with about 14 other passengers on our balloon - maybe not what expected but that didn't take away from the beauty of the experience.

Take off was gentle and before long we were sailing 980m high through the skies. We travelled approximately 25 km in an hour with breath-taking views of the desert, mountains, the mysterious fairy circles, oryx, springbok, vulture and two brown hyena chasing a herd of springbok.

Our landing was smooth with the pilot placing us gently back onto the basket trailer with amazing skill and help from the crew. We disembarked and were treated to copious bottles of champagne and breakfast, most of which was freshly baked by the staff at Namib Sky Balloon Safaris.

An incredible lifetime experience and well worth the splurge.

and the champagne wasn't too shabby either!
