Our 2nd day we Drove to Ais Ais - beautiful scenery on the way.  The resort was very sad and neglected - no guests and a heap of maintenance to be done. The drive there was amazing - right through the canyon - watch Mike's video below...

Feel like this bullet ridden rusted vehicle has a lot of secrets to tell! So rewarding taking snap shots of the beautiful old trucks.

Stopped at the Cannon Lodge for lunch - a Godwana resort and so well looked after and maintained - even has a putt putt course - a little surprising but suppose not much else around for guests to do in these parts. . Spotted the Acacia Pied Barbet a beautiful bird and a first for us. The staff were so friendly and gave us weary travellers a couple bags of ice for free as our campsite shop at Hobas were out of stock of ice! (For travellers to follow please note that we paid N$ 60 for a very small bundle of wood and N$ 50 for 5l bottle of water from the Hobas shop) Our lunch was simple but delicious and was completed with a much appreciated bottled of Peter Falke Blanc De Noir. Lunch was surprisingly good after the Fare and service we have been receiving from the NWR resorts. Pub with no Ice I ask you who ever heard of that !
